World goes round

param-pam-BAM param-pam-BAM
param-pam-BAM pa-RAM pa-BAM (x infinity)
aztec dancers,
long bright feathers extending from their head
in half moon shape
step-step-JumP step-step-JumP crouCh!
head convulsionating from side to side,
up and down
body seemingly still moving the other direction

the once golden-light mountain
now has only its top
caressed by the receding sun

param-pam-BAM param-pam-BAM
param-pam-BAM pa-RAM pa-BAM (x infinity)
toodle ponchis, ponchis
tantaran tantaran
tu tu tu turu
tu tu tu turu
break dancers
gathering a crowd
right across
the Violinist on the Rooftop band;
an accordion, two trumpets and a guitar
very jewish I imagine

people dont stop crossing the plaza
one side to the other
a kid dropping some coins for the street performers
once in a while

long hair, rastas, flowered skirts, indigenous vendors
an old lady with makeup sitting at the stairs of the church
by me

moustaches, hats, shawls, folders, bags, bright balloons
Michael Jackson just began.

an infant jumping in its mother's lap

a plastic camp of protesters
covered by red signs of rebellion, unconfort
and blue nylon.

pladded shirts, a dizzy man
the mountain turns from
light to navy blue
no clouds

a little boy sits at the stairs
putting gum into his mouth
his backpack filled with merchandise

cotton candy?
